I have to say that Rocket French is my favorite of all the available French learning software products. Not only is it an extremely thorough and well-organized multimedia teaching tool, but it’s also far less expensive than the vast majority of comparable software packages out there.
Rocket French is quite comprehensive. It provides an abundance of learning materials, including over 110 hours (!) of audio lessons, complete with transcripts of every lesson, plus tons of exercises and activities to help you absorb the French language.

With Rocket French, you start from the beginning with words and phrases that you will need to know when you are introducing yourself to someone. From there, you delve deeper into language needed for a wide array of real situations that you will encounter in France – from navigating the supermarket to handling an emergency, to even flirting in French!
The team at Rocket French not only provides you with lessons, but also entertains your brain with 3 language-learning games. The games (MegaVocab, MegaAudio and MegaVerbs) are actually fun, as well as being surprisingly effective memory-boosters. They also have good replay value, so you can turn to them again and again to help retain the info you’ve learned.
For all that Rocket French has to offer, it is extremely affordable. The cost of Rocket French is far less than taking a class, and you get the benefit of referring to the materials as often as you need to for the rest of your life. As I mentioned before, it’s also far less expensive than most comparable courses.
Plus, you can take Rocket French with you wherever you go – whether you study the program on your laptop or print out the transcripts to review at your convenience. The 110+ hours of audio lessons can go straight on your iPod for car listening, etc. Compare this to taking a French class – where your main language-learning resource (your teacher) is only available for a few hours each week!
